The team did an absolutely fantastic job. The event was really busy all day and they went over and above to fit everybody in.

Hoping to be able to re-book again for next year!

Overall feedback from staff was really positive, people enjoyed the event and appreciated the time the team spent explaining results.

More Information about Workplace Physical Wellbeing Services

Physical wellbeing looks holistically at the physical health of an individual. This isn’t just whether they’re healthy or unhealthy, but how they feel in their daily-life, and what’s important to them in terms of their physical wellbeing.

At work, this relates to how the workplace impacts their physical wellbeing.

It’s about the whole individual, and not just the stats.

Promoting physical wellbeing at work doesn’t mean forcing your colleague to go to the gym or placing fruit bowls all around the office.

It’s about encouraging staff to make healthy choices around their physical health and wellbeing. This could mean offering subsidised gym memberships, or offering healthier snacks at work, but it could also be simpler. For example, you could encourage your staff to take walking meetings and move around regularly, especially if they’re desk-based workers.

Empowerment is also crucial. You could host an employee health check day to help your colleagues get to know their health numbers, motivating them to make positive lifestyle changes.

Not only can all employees participate in physical wellbeing at work – but they should.

More specifically, you should ensure that everyone is able to participate fairly. There should be no barriers around age or ability, for example.

In other words, don’t try to sign your employees up for an ultra-marathon – that’s not what physical wellbeing is about!

Supporting staff wellbeing at work is crucial to the success of any workplace. It helps employees feel valued and important, and leads to a happier, healthier and more productive working environment.

There are four key points to consider when supporting staff wellbeing in the workplace:

  • Equity: health and wellbeing initiatives should be accessible to all.
  • Equality: campaigns should respect staff without discrimination around ability, age, culture, etc.
  • Empowerment: colleagues should feel empowered by wellbeing, and not dictated to – it should improve their self-awareness, self-esteem, and decision-making around their own wellbeing.
  • Engagement: wellbeing is holistic and should involve colleagues in all aspects – it’s about what matters to them.
