What's in the Movember Poster Pack?
This poster pack consists of three posters around the core themes of Movember:
- Male suicide
- Testicular cancer
- Prostate cancer
Each poster contains a useful resource or call to action, including a prostate cancer risk checker, testicular cancer check guide, and the Samaritan’s 24/7 helpline number.
Why Movember Matters in the Workplace
Movember is the event in the wellbeing calendar for men’s health. It’s an entire month dedicated to raising awareness around male-specific health issues, focusing on suicide, testicular cancer, and prostate cancer.
And if you weren’t aware of any of that, we’d put money on it that you’re aware of the moustache growing campaigns.
- Suicide is the biggest killer in men under 50.
- 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.
- Testicular cancer has a survival rate of over 95%, if it’s diagnosed in time.
Raising awareness around these topics is important. The workplace will be a setting where men at risk of these problems spend most of their time – so it’s the perfect place to tackle them head-on, too.
How to Use These Posters
There are a few different ways you could use these Movember Posters in a campaign this November. They should be fairly obvious, but if not, here’s how you could use them:
- Print off simple A4 versions and display them in a high-traffic area, like the break room, kitchen, or even toilets.
- Email them round to staff to save printing.
- Display them on workplace digital screens.
- Get them professionally printed in a large format, like A1, to display in bigger areas.
Think about how you want to celebrate Movember in a wider context, which should help you work out how to best use these posters. And if you haven’t got that far yet, check out our guide on 8 Movember Activities for the Workplace.
Supporting Men's Health Beyond Movember
It sounds obvious, but men’s health isn’t just for the month of November – it’s year round. With Movember being such a big event, it can seem like that’s the only time to prioritise it, but a good workplace wellbeing strategy keeps men’s health on the agenda throughout the year.
