What is Neurodiversity?
Neurodiversity refers to the idea that there’s no single “right” way that brains function, think, learn, and behave. There are a variety of neurological differences that exist in the human brain, including conditions like autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and Tourette’s. Rather than seeing these as “disorders” to be fixed, the concept of neurodiversity recognises them as variations in how people think, learn, and process information.
Why is Neurodiversity in the Workplace Important?
Neurodiversity brings new thinking, different perspectives, and often hidden strengths to the workplace. People with neurological differences like autism, ADHD, dyslexia or Tourette’s can bring focus, creativity, attention to detail and technical skills. But it’s not just about talent, it’s about fairness and inclusion too. A working environment that gets different ways of thinking helps everyone do their best work. It also opens up a much bigger talent pool. When businesses build cultures that value neurodiversity, they not only challenge outdated stereotypes but also get new ideas, better problem solving and a more dynamic workforce.

What's the Format of the Workshop?
This is a 60-minute workshop designed for 8 – 25 delegates, to gain an awareness and understanding of neurodiversities in the workplace.

Who Should Attend?
Neurodiversity isn’t often very well understood. In addition to this, neurodiversity is a term that covers a wide range of conditions, some limiting, some not at all.
This neurodiversity training in the workplace is designed to give a general understanding of common neurodiversities, in addition to ways that a workplace can be made more inclusive and accessible.
As such, this workshop is great for everyone, helping to establish a general awareness and understanding.
What Kind of Qualification is this?
This workshop isn’t a qualification, nor is it certified.
The focus of this session isn’t around educational achievement. Rather, the workshop aims to help attendees, no matter their background, gain an awareness of and understanding of various neurodiversities, and what they can mean for the workplace.

What are the Struggles of Neurodiversity in the Workplace?
Neurodiversity in the workplace training is essential because many neurodivergent employees still face challenges that can make it harder to thrive. These might include unclear communication, overly rigid processes, noisy or overstimulating environments, and a lack of flexibility in how work is done. Social interactions with colleagues or customers can also be difficult for some people.
There’s often a lack of understanding or awareness among colleagues or managers, which can lead to stereotypes, exclusion or even discrimination. Without the right support, talented individuals can feel overlooked, undervalued or forced to hide who they are just to fit in. Offering training, and making small changes like quiet spaces, written instructions or flexible working, can go a long way to removing these barriers.
